Kate Fitzsimons

Director and Presenter

Sister and best friend to Nicole, Kate is a woman on a mission – to save as many other’s as she can from her sister’s tragic fate.

After graduating from her Business Degree, Kate left her corporate career in March 2013 to become the Director of the Nicole Fitzsimons Foundation – established in honour of her sister who was killed in a motorbike accident in Thailand during 2012. Kate is now the passionate “voice” of the Foundation’s Travel Safety Campaign, delivering presentations to senior students that hits home as to why you must never compromise your safety whilst traveling overseas.

Speaking from her heart about the experience of losing her sister so young & tragically, Kate’s powerful presentation is a very timely wake up call in the lead up to overseas adventures many students undertake after school. Being described as ‘eye-opening’, ‘life-changing’ and ‘unforgettably inspiring’ by students, her presentation has reached over 30,000 senior students at over 150 schools around Australia. But it doesn’t stop there – in November 2015 Kate took her campaign international with her with her first school presentation in New Zealand and now works in co-operation with the DFAT, with the personal support of Foreign Minister Julie Bishop.

Kate’s received recognition for the difference she is making with the Youth of Australia by winning The Daily Telegraph’s Body+Soul Extraordinary Woman of the Year in the Motivation Category, Rockdale’s Young Citizen of the Year and Top 3 Finalist in Daily Telegraph’s ‘Young Leader’ category for 2014.
