Sydney Colourful Ball – 13th July 2013

The Fitzsimons Family invites you all to enjoy an evening filled with live entertainment, raffles, silent auctions and appearances by Australian sporting stars. And of course – we’ll party the night away together on the dance floor in honour of what our beautiful girl loved most!

Nicole Fitzsimons Trophy – 5th April 2013

Illawarra Rugby League – West Illawarra Devils vs Shellharbour Sharks – Parish Park, Figtree

The West Illawarra Devils and Shellharbour Sharks contested the inaugural Nicole Fitzsimons Trophy on Friday, 5th April at Parish Park. Jamie Keith , played for both teams previously which was why this match was selected. Jamie played for the Wests Devils and managed to score a try. Over a thousand people attended the match,including many of Jamie and Nicole’s friends catching up with the Fitzy family.

The Foundation sold merchandise and raffle tickets during the night, raising over $1,600. Jamie spoke about the tragedy and the Nicole Fitzsimons Foundation assisting young gifted and talented performing artists and sportspeople as well as travel safety awareness. Brett Morris and Trent Merrin drew the raffle prizes.

Wests had a successful night winning all three grades: 1st Grade defeated Shellharbour 32-0, Reserve Grade won 36-12 and U 18’s won 30 – 6.

Denman Barefoot Bowls Day – 16th March 2013

Saturday 16th March the Fitzsimons family travelled to Denman for a Barefoot Bowls Day organised by a committee of dedicated locals who had met Jamie at a wedding and wanted to support Nicole’s Foundation.

Denman is a small town of 2,000 people in the Hunter Valley with only four restaurants . However, they have a wonderful community spirit and are extremely generous. The day was very professionally organised with Nic Fitz Foundation stubbie holders, banners and shirts with Foundation logos . The warm weather allowed everyone enjoyed the bowls followed in the evening with Kate speaking about the Foundation then an auction and raffles. The committee had organised fabulous items to auction including Roger Federer tennise racquet, Knight for a Day footy package, weekend at Forster and many more.

Over $20,000 was raised by this amazing town! The Nicole Fitzsimons Foundation would like to thank the enthusiastic committee: Nathan, Sharyn, Zoe, Tahnee, Robyn, Jody, Blake & Jay as well as:

  • Denman Bowling Club for hosting the event
  • Grapevine Motel
  • Everyone from Denman that donated, purchased auction items or attended the day

men of league all stars starAll Stars MoL Charity Game – 2nd March 2013

The Foundation is proud to announce its association with the All Stars Men of League Charity Game to be played at Stockton Stadium on the Sunshine Coast at 3:00pm on Saturday 2nd March 2013.

The All Star Event consists of a family day of activities centred around a number of Rugby League matches culminating in an exhibition match between an All Star team of ex NRL greats, led by Allan Langer vs the Caloundra Sharks A grade Rugby League Team.

A gala dinner has also been organised to follow the family day. The All Stars Men of League Gala Evening is a charity fundraiser held at Novotel Twin Waters where guests, sponsors and players are treated to a fun evening with notable guest speakers and MC including food, drinks and entertainment.

The Nicole Fitzsimons Foundation has been selected as a charity partner for the 2013 event and will auction off items at the gala dinner as well as donating the services of the retired Jamie Keith to play for the All Stars team in the game.

Wollongong Colourful Ball Fundraiser – 23rd February 2013

City Beach at Wollongong hosted the inaugural Nicole Fitzsimons Foundation Colourful Ball on 23rd February. It was a fabulous night that honoured Nicole’s passion and love of life with great entertainment provided by:

  • JL Dance
  • Lyndell Harradine singing songs she wrote for the Foundation
  • Interviews with Brett Morris and Ben Hornby
  • Jamie spoke about the importance of travel safety and Kate made a presentation about the family and the Foundation’s goals

Dancing was started with Jamie, wearing the colourful lycra outfit he wore at Nicole’s 21st doing a solo followed by a conga line. Haim, from DJ Solutions, kept the dance floor packed all night. Those who were not dancing could enjoy the lolly station, bid on the silent auctions or visit the photo booth, kindly donated by Love and Laughter.

Thank you to everyone that donated prizes, bought tickets , auction items and everyone that attended. Approximately $13,000 was raised on the night. The Fitzsimons family felt so much love and support in the room that we could smile and dance for the first time since we lost our beautiful Nicole. Hope to see you all in 2014 at the next Wollongong Colourful Ball!


Worldwide Candle Lighting – 9th December 2012

Please honour and remember  Nicole wherever you maybe  by lighting a candle  for  The Compassionate Friends Worldwide Candle Lighting. This .unites family and friends around the globe in lighting candles for one hour to remember children who have died . As candles are lit at 7 p.m. local time or 8pm daylight saving time , hundreds of thousands of persons commemorate the memory of all children gone too soon.

This year’s event will be the 16th Worldwide Candle Lighting. The Nicole  Fitzsimons Foundation Family encourage you to light the candle for one hour on 9th December and then keep the candle to light on Christmas Day to remember Nicole.
