Kate is fulfilling her mission to educate all young Australians, in honour of her sister, by producing a Travel Safety movie that will be available to all high schools – thanks to funding from the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, and Jetstar! No stone has been left unturned to ensure the film is just as impactful and eye-opening as Kate’s presentation. She has spent many pain-staking hours planning, producing, editing as well as featuring in the film which has been filmed and co-edited by Paul Moses from Lumination Video. To celebrate it’s completion we held a Movie Premiere night at Cronulla Cinemas on Thursday 28th April!
A heartfelt thank you to everyone who attended the launch. We were honoured to have guests from DFAT and Jetstar there with us who generously funded the production of this movie. I would also like to thank Cronulla MP Mark Speakman for joining us and the amazing ongoing support he gives to Nicole’s Foundation. It was also a privilegde to have the Mayor of Sutherland Shire, Carlos Pesce, in attendance as well as representatives from the Insurance Council of Australia who we are proud to now also be working together with. Finally, a big shout out to Darryl Brohman who kindly gave his time to be our MC for the night and once again did a highly entertaining job of it.
We are now working on how we will distribute the movie to high schools across Australia, and also beginning work on designing some learning materials to use alongside the movie to make it an even more valuable resource for teachers to use to educate their students about travel safety in a powerful and relatable way.
