Thanks to everyone who joined us at Bonnie Doon on Friday 28th November for the Nicole Fitzsimons Foundation golf event!
We were blessed with perfect weather and a great contest on a fabulously presented Bonnie Doon layout. It was a real pleasure to be able to meet so many of you out on the course and over dinner. Special thanks must go to Steve Philp, a friend of Nicole’s from Channel Nine, who entertained us as MC over dinner, to our wonderful volunteers and the staff of Bonnie Doon who made the event work so well and to the Australian College of Elite Golf who provided their professionals and students to add that special touch to the day.
Of course there had to be a winner(s) on the day and in case you missed the results of the golf competition the placegetters are as follows:-
– 1st Place Team – Peter Peters, Michael Sorridimi, Peter Drivas and Bill Malos (net score – 52.125)
– 2nd Place Team – Scott Fitzpatrick, Leonard Gennusa, Murray Fitzpatrick and Colin Bond (net score – 54.75)
– 3rd Place Team – Peter Stretton, Mark Andrews, Pete Forrester and Kathryn Matthews (net score – 55.125)
Kathryn Matthews also achieved the longest ladies’ drive (158m), Nathan Dureau was the longest mens’ drive (267m), with nearest the pins going to Jamie Barrington and Brad Crismale. Sadly no one achieved a hole in one so the $10,000 prize on offer remained unclaimed throughout the day.
Overall the most generous support we received from you and all our sponsors will exceed $30,000 for the event and we are grateful for this funding to help meet the aims of the Foundation with respect to its very important Travel Safety Campaign and in assisting young Australians who are disadvantaged yet improving their lives through participation in sport or performing art, such as Jason Fulford who you may have met on Friday at the event.
Look forward to seeing you all at our next Foundation event which will be our Sydney Colourful Ball on Saturday 21st February, 2015!
